Fantastic time had by all at Pony Club Easter Camp on April 5th and 6th. It was wonderful to finally be back at Tuen Mun Public Riding School! The kids had an amazing time vaulting, riding bareback (and backwards!), playing mounted games, painting the ponies, Easter egg hunting... and so much more. There is just so much fun to be had in this beautiful facility.

Big thank you also to Joelle, Jessica, Sing, Mo, Ivy, Vicky, Andrew, Shuen, Sarah, Ethan, Ashlyn and Oskar for instructing and volunteering.

It's been a tricky year to organise group activities but we've finally managed to host another round of Pony Club C Testing. Congratulations to our latest batch of new C Testers and thank you to Louise Sanderson for conducting the examination at Clear Water Bay Equestrian Centre on Easter Sunday (4th April 2021.)

Fantastic time had by 15 lucky riders and ponies over the Easter school holidays at our first and second XC Experience sessions in a long, long while. Thank you Beas River Equestrian Centre and Lo Wu Saddle Club for making it possible. Looking forward for more to come!

Thank you Neil for sharing your inspirational story... starting out from a non-horsey family background in Ireland and rising to the top of horse racing in Hong Kong. We look forward to the day that Jack fulfills his ambition of racing against you - nothing like a bit of family rivalry to add to the competition!

Thank you Nicole for sharing your stories about riding in the old days last Tuesday evening. So delighted we had such an enthusiastic turnout from "Pony Clubbers" of all ages. We're rooting for you to resume training on your return to the UK and can't wait to see "Belle" in action one day ... fingers crossed for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022!

Looking for something different to do this Saturday night? Why not enter as a family team in this Online Quiz hosted by Clearwater Bay Equestrian Centre? It is after all in aid of a great cause: The Horse Retirement Fund.

The quiz is non-equine themed to appeal to a wider audience, but still a great way to stay connected with our horsey community during this prolonged period of riding school closure.

For those with existing ties to riding in the United States (or interest in developing those ties in future), you may be interested to know that the United States Pony Club 2021 Virtual Equine Symposium and Convention starts today. This event is usually held in person but this year, for the first time, it's going online.

Check out the attached itinerary, which offers something for everybody (in the US context). There's a mix of live and on-demand educational opportunities. Note all live sessions are on Eastern Standard Time, which is 13 hours behind Hong Kong.

Registration costs USD 95 and sessions will be available on-demand for six months. 

CEEC will be launching a new online training series this Saturday 9th January at 12 noon. This is another good opportunity to enhance your knowledge of theory and stable management—particularly for those aspiring C Testers out there.

On the evening of December 28th (early morning US time) we had the privilege of meeting Kama Godek over zoom from her beautiful competition yard in Virginia USA.

Kama competes in show-jumping up to 5* FEI level. She is a highly respected trainer of show-jumping horses and riders—specialising in helping international customers to find and develop European horses. Many young riders will relate to her inspirational story... working her way up from Pony Club to fulfill her dreams of competing, riding and training at the highest level.
