Welcome to Hong Kong Pony Club
What does it feel like to gallop at 60 km/ hour? How much control do you have riding amongst a herd of horses running at that speed?
Neil Callan is a professional jockey who is originally from Ireland. He came to Hong Kong to ride on a short contract in 2010/11, returned for the full racing season in 2014/15, and is still here with his family six years on.
Indeed, the Callans are a truly horsey bunch in which every member of the family rides (or will do eventually...) Trish, Jack, Henry and Ted are regular fixtures on horseback at Beas River. And little Will has spent many a happy hour watching from his stroller.
Learn about Neil's journey to the top of his sport and find out what it takes to be a professional jockey. This is your chance to ask anything you like about horse racing and racehorses. I know I for one have lots of questions.
WE HOPE THIS WILL BE A FUN AND INTERACTIVE SESSION FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO COME ALONG. PLEASE JOIN US!
